Nobilis Pigeon Vaccine PMV – 80 Dose

Indication
Nobilis Pigeon Vaccine PMV is indicated for the active immunisation of pigeons against clinical disease caused by virulent Pigeon Paramyxovirus type 1 (PPMV-1). The vaccine has been shown to significantly reduce virus shedding following exposure to infection.

Onset and Duration of Immunity
Protective immunity against paramyxovirus develops approximately 4 weeks after primary vaccination. A duration of immunity of 12 months has been demonstrated.

Presentation
Also available as Nobilis (Nobivac) PMV Vaccine – 200 dose.

Dosage and Administration

  • Dose: 0.25 ml per bird

  • Route: Subcutaneous injection

Special Precautions

User Warnings

This product contains mineral oil. Accidental self-injection may cause severe pain and swelling, particularly if injected into a finger or joint. In rare cases, delayed treatment may result in loss of the affected digit.

If accidental injection occurs, seek immediate medical attention, even if only a small amount is injected, and take the package leaflet with you. If pain persists for more than 12 hours, seek further medical advice.

Advice for the Physician

Accidental injection of mineral oil-based vaccines can result in intense swelling, potentially leading to ischaemic necrosis and loss of tissue. Prompt specialist surgical intervention may be required, including early incision and irrigation, particularly where fingers, tendons, or pulp are involved.

Interactions

No information is available regarding the safety or efficacy of this vaccine when used concurrently with other veterinary medicinal products. Use before or after other products should be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
Do not mix with any other veterinary medicinal product.

Immunological Considerations

A successful immune response depends on both the quality of the vaccine and the competence of the bird’s immune system. Reduced immunity may result from:

  • Poor storage or incorrect administration

  • Poor health or nutritional status

  • Stress, concurrent medication, or genetic factors

Under conditions of high disease pressure or variant viral challenge, even vaccinated birds may develop clinical disease. Vaccination reduces risk but does not guarantee absolute protection in all circumstances.

Pharmaceutical Precautions

  • Store refrigerated at 2°C to 8°C

  • Do not freeze

  • Use immediately after opening

Disposal

Dispose of unused vaccine and waste materials in accordance with national and local regulations.
